copper vs. black pipe

Is there an advantage when using different piping materials to connect the boiler with storage, expansion etc. I will be building my headers from 1" pex with 1/2" pex loops.

Also, I have 2 500 gallon tanks stacked on top of one another and will be connecting these with a 1 1/2" connection but wasn't sure what to use between these either.


Any comments?
