In my opinion an OAK is well worth it. Why send heated room air up the chimney? They especially recommend OAKs for basement installs which is what I have. I got 2" flex pipe and then covered it with Home Depot Fiberglass Pipe Insulation. Works great!

Since it worked so well with my pellet stove I also OAKed up the FHW boiler!!
