I heard an old wise tale the other day and thought I would run it past all the experts on here to see if it is true or just a tale. I was told if you burn an aluminum can in your stove it will clean the cresote out of your pipe. Something to do with the fumes it puts out? I was just curious if anyone has ever tried this or was he just pulling my leg?

hehehe

Cresote cure=stop burning, and be willing to freeze your buns off.

Seriously, burn hot and burn clean dry wood and no "worries mate"..

Nothing will take the place of proper burning techniques. It's just like auto maintenance. They have yet to make a "mechanic-in-a-can".

A better suggestion? Drink whatever is in the can after you've finished cutting next years wood.

Ditto all that. I only burn dry stuff and make a super hot and controlled fire every day. No prob, Bob!

the cure is free and available its called "time" , gotta use dry wood .in a nut shell creosote is caused by moisture
