Im going to be in the market for a Harman P43 for the '11 burning season. Do any members know of shops that would have sales going on in the off season in the CT, RI, Mass, Eastern NY area?

In recent years Harman has had preseason coupons around April time frame. If I were you I would check the prices now and get a feel for your local dealers in the area. Maybe even snap some pictures of the stove with its price tag. It has been said that some dealers(not all so don't shoot me!) have raised the price of the stove about the same amount as the discount being offer.

One thing is pellet stoves aren't treated like auto's. We have seen older stoves sold as new, With an older date on the unit. Not the dealers fault as this is what they get from the warehouse.

I have seen some floor models that have been on display for a season or 2 or 3 even. Some dealers stick firm to the price and don't offer discounts on demo's. Why? IDK! I even squabbled with one dealer while assisting a friend in his purchase. All the dealer would come down was $200 bucks. AFAIK, the dealer still has that stove on display. A short ride to another dealer with a floor model that had it marked down was all it took to make the sale. Go figure?
