I am wanting to put my old Defiant in a shop out in the barn. The barn has a 6in pipe that was previously installed and the stove has a 8in in the back. Can I get an adapter and step it down? I know this is a big NO if I was running 8in pipe then stepping it down before the thimble but can I do this right in the back of the stove?

Thanks for the help.

I wouldnt, VC stoves are very reliant on a good draft and tend to smoke if they dont get one. The secondary burn will definitely not work well if at all without a good draft.
