Purchased a couple of these to use cleaning out the bar groove on the stihl chainsaw, works great.

I have that one as well and a couple more, Just use the first one that comes up and thats the quickest one. Oh and use the air compresser keep that saw like you need to sell it...

Smokin do you have the link for the work bench you made, I'm going to build one before Nov.

John's the man on work benchs he has forgotten more than I will ever know about them........
 
I am going to run shelves all around the bench with some maple slabs to make that whole side of the shop look like chainsaw heaven.
 
I bought that gauge but it doesn't come with instructions. How are you really supposed to use it? I was intending to knock down the rakers on my Stihl chains. Ended up just knocking a bit off of each one.
 
Whatever comes through the round whole need filed shouldn't be very much at all.

That's a different tool than the stihl one though. Is the "round" hole the one on the left side of the photo in this thread? How do you run a file over the tool without filing the tool down as well?

I do not leave it there I will put a couple stroks on it and check it again until its flush. I like the rakers to be round and sloping back.
