Hello!

I noticed a discoloured patch on the glass. It almost has rainbow tones to its edges. I’m not sure of the correct term for it.

My questions are
- will it just go away?
- if not, how do I remove it (hoping it isn’t permanent)?
- how do I prevent it again?

For context, it only showed up after running the fire for the third time. My partner ran it for a full day and let it go overnight. This morning I have noticed this.
It’s on there left side of the picture but hard to see with reflection.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forums from Down Under !!

Yes, it's normal, It's from a fire that didn't burn quite hot enough. Multiple causes.

For a 3rd time burn, not bad. Not great, but not bad.

How seasoned is your firewood, and what type of stove is it?

Again, welcome to the Forums :)

Thanks very much!!
We were told the wood was quite seasoned - that It had been there for a year or two. It is an in built wood fire heater - see attached. Hope that answers it correctly!

Should It come off when we burn again or should I clean it somehow ?
Also, great forum!
