hearth.com has been great and has recommended I may need to extend my class a chimney higher. The existing stack is old and made in Canada I believe. If I buy a new section, what are the chances that it will mate to the existing? There is some sections for sale locally that I may be able to grab for a good price.

So basically, are class A connections universal or manufacturer specific?

Thanks for any help!

MrKenmore,

If i'm thinking correctly, I'm pretty sure it's security chimney, made in Canada. I have about 14' of it in the garage attic with a thimble and a rain cap.
(four 3' sections and one 2' section). My Dad had it for a short period of time in his home, and then removed it. Double wall insulated stainless. The info sticker on it should be red in color. This stuff is 6 inch id.

If anybody out there is interested, make me some offers on it, it could be yours.

NO YOU CAN NOT MIX AN MATCH
IT would not be cost effective for a manufacure to make a pipe that Brand Cheepo would fit.
