So it's getting cold again and the stove hasn't burned wood for 4 days. Do I need to do a break in before getting a roaring fire?

I have the enamel Shelburne in a cabin which is used infrequently. If I go in and the stove is sitting in a 10 degree cabin, I do a small break-in fire. It may be unnecessary, but I see it as cheap insurance. Takes maybe an extra 30-60 minutes. If yours is sitting in a 65-70 degree room, I don't know if I'd bother.

If dry and in a house, I'd fire it right up, even if it had been sitting 40 days.
