Apparently everyone in my area is using the same guy for installs. He is suppose to be really good. I just want to know if these install prices are fair. Thanks

$ 25.00: Additional to include fresh air intake*.
$1235.82: Grand Total (plus tax and shipping)

Harman Accentra insert

$ 140.00: Additional to include fresh air intake*.
$1277.26: Grand Total (plus tax and shipping)

Harman P-68 free-standing
$1298.50: Assembly of the stove, installing the 4" flexible stainless steel liner to the top of the chimney.
$ 48.00: Additional to include fresh air intake*.
$ 444.00: Additional to include front support and hearth extension.

$1895.50: Grand Total (plus tax and shipping)

I suppose if you are for whatever reason , unable do it yourself , the prices are fair "IF" it includes materials .
But for anyone physically able and having some tools and basic construction skills this should be no more than a good days work (maybe 2 ) especially if you have a friend to help you. It`s far from being rocket science.

Seems a little high to me...but you're in Northern VA so I'm sure that increases prices a little bit. The guys I used were out of Winchester VA (The Pool Stop), I got my Harman Advance from them in December. I think the name of the installer's company is Aqua Logix - they do pellet stoves in the fall/winter, swimming pools in the summer and water softeners year round. They are excellent, the guy really knows Harman stoves.

Not sure how much cheaper they would be, but you could call and ask. The guy's name is John, cell phone is 540-931-3233.

OK, Anyone can pay full retail. Obviously he has to make a living too but there`s no harm in negotiating a better price. There`s usually some wiggle room.

THE insert is real easy to install. my flex and parts was about 375 and took about 2.5 hrs. you should look into it, go to youtube

Yes but your total includes the price of the stove. The way I read it, he is paying nearly $1300 just for the install, which includes the SS chimney. Yours was about $800.

As I reread the OP I see that I looked at it wrong.
