This is the first year with my stove and I noticed this morning that the vertical strip at the hinges for the door I could see orange thru, hmmm I thought, already in need of a new gasket?

How often do you guys replace your door gaskets? And did I do anything to shorten its life?

Just thought it seemed a bit odd . . .

Look and see if it is where the ends of the rope meet. If so maybe you can fluff it up and close the gap. I am on season five with this gasket and it doesn't look tired yet. With my old stove I usually did five or six years before a change.
