We just purchased a home with a see through fireplace. We are looking for some kind of insert that we can see the fire from both rooms. We have been told there is nothing out there that will burn wood and be more than just beautiful. I do not want to seal one side off with a bla.ck plate

You can find them for gas, but none for wood.

What we did was put an insert on one side, and pretty glass doors on the other side (with tinted black glass). Its not as dramatic as the see through - but the fire actually works now
