Now canning the last batches of tomatoes. The rest will be for eating only. Peppers have been canned or are drying. Time to gather the squash and put the hoses away. We have a few valiant summer squash that are still producing, but their days are numbered. Broccoli and Brussel sprouts look good as does the lettuce, but with the damp weather powdery mildew and slugs have moved in. Here's most of the squash harvest and the last big picking from the garden.

We also pressed 500 lbs of apples, 15 gallons of which are now in carboys.

and we helped a neighbor harvest grapes. There were about 2.5 tons of pinot noir and pinot gris grapes!

It's been a great summer. Hate to see it end. We still have cukes, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and spinach in the greenhouse. So that will have to do for now.
