Mineral wells wv
Ok so if u own a 13 and probably the 30 as well uv noticed u can't shut the air all the way off even with control rod pushed all way in there's still about a half inch hole for it to get air probably for EPA reasons. On mine with the oak was thinking of putting something in the line going out side to control the Air coming in to stove so once shut down I could close a damper on the oak and get better extended burns? Does that make since and sound doable??

Won't make any difference. There are two spaces on the box that round intake in the back connects to, two holes under the front of the stove behind the legs and the rectangular secondary air intake hole under the back of the firebox letting unregulated air into the stove.
