So i got in my hopper extension for my pdvc looks good and i took some pics to document the install. Dont let mike see this I know it will void the warranty. just not sure why they haven't found a way to make the hopper bigger. But for all those heres what ive done

I ordered mine from amazon. After reading the directions there were some things I didn't like .

    Here are my steps

Unscrew lid and save self tapping screws
Pull off fiberglass gasket strips save for later
    Disconnect lid switch
Put hopper extension over opening and scrib line to make out area for removal
    Cut tab from factory hopper
Clean new hopper with degreaser and apply fiberglass gasket strips using silicone adhesive
Put lid on and secure using factory self tap sheet metal screws
Flip hopper over add foam gasket that came in kit add silicone to corners
Put hopper on stove and center over opening. I used to clamps to hold.
The manufacture said to bend the hopper extent tabs to hold I used #10 self tap sheet metal to hold
    Assemble switch extension
    Install switch
Don't forget to fill in holes where the hing attached to factory hopper. I used silicone
Vacuum out any metal shavings that might have dropped in
Fill with pellets adjust lid latches if ness.
    Turn on.
Whole thing took about 60 min

At this time I did not adjust the plate on top of the auger. Going to see how it feeds.

    Enjoy.

Looks good, just make sure it's sealed up good, check for daylight on the seams on the sides and silicone where it meets the original hopper, I love mine and life would suck without it..

Mine holds close to 105 lbs. I fill mine every 24 hrs and I have around 30-40 lbs left in the hopper sometimes less, it's depends..I average a burn of 60-80 lbs a day. 40 lbs when it's above 35.....with the hopper extesion I have never ran out. Before the extenison I woke up or came home to a cold house on a regular basis. From fill to empty I get around 36 hours + -. I don't run mine on a stat yet so your experience may vary, your sig says modified burn pot, what did you do?

How much is the Hopper extension?? .... and I agree the "40lbs" hopper is to small and heck I am not sure it actually hold the entire 40 lb bag.

I paid 125 from Amazon. The directions are not the best but anyone with basic mechanical skills can get through it

Dgo.... I have the save stove and made the same hopper extension about 8 years back. Thought it was my stove pic at first did a double take. I can put three full bags in it and walk away for 4 plus days depending on demand.

Dgo... I know this question was for another member but....I opened holes in the burn pot plate to 3/32 in from factory added a few more too. I get pellets from the local HD and never know what I'm gonna get. I have some really crappy ones at the moment that clink up bad. I've messed with stove settings to no end. Finally, opened holes like I said allowing more air and burning pellets better. I have another ton of good ones ready to go after I burn through these.

That's not the first time I heard that, lol. At least the seats warm on those cold nights.

    Looks weird but I'm happy.

No issue. I don't need to 'toiletize' my stove. Between myself and my wife, someone is always looking in the hopper to make sure the stove has fuel.

"toiletize" good one! I'm gonna steal that phrase and use it. Haha

We check often also, but it has some advantages for me.

If I planned on keeping this stove I would definitely look into that. I hate that this stove will not even hold one bag of pellets.
