Here is a link and discussion of some European gasification boilers:

ETA Gasification Boiler: http://www.eta.co.at/fileadmin/eta_userupload/Produkte/SH/english/ETA_SH_Prospekt_engl..pdf

Veissmann: http://www.viessmann.de/en/products...stitem.52834.FileRef.File.tmp/ppr-vitolig.pdf

These seem to be two of the top-of-the-line European boilers.

Here is a YouTube link to the ETA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga9TbNIiCJE

Any ideas, comments experiences, and thoughts on these units?

Thanks!

there are a few ways you can make a wide band last though high heat and rich air/fuel ratios

you can do a heat sink to keep them cool.

but a cone around the side of them to keep most of the gases out but for one hole in the tip.

Hey Sal . . .any relation to Debbie?

But more on point . . . If I had it to do over again, I'd have the Viessmann. Maybe next time.

Can you elaborate on that comment please? Why would you prefer the Viessmann and what are you using now?

Thanks!

Simple. . .'cause I'm a simple guy . . .

1)I have a V'mann oil boiler that works very well and I like the gui
2)I have a GW wood-hydronic, and the refractory has cracked to hell

Honestly, I think both companies suck at customer service. But I would have gone with some sort of inexpensive oil unit and made the Vmann wood unit the primary system.

Now we just need some Viessmann dealers

Well, my company is German-owned and I have a lot of friends there from the many trips I've had to take... Hmmmm :)

Don't think you can fit one in your carry-on baggage. Blueprints would fit, though....

Given the state of the dollar and the cost of shipping big iron, I wonder if manufacturing rights could be negotiated?

I was thinking of having one of the guys stick one in one of the containers coming over...

This particular Viessmann dealer has been kicking sand and raising H___ with Viessmann trying to get them to bring their wood and pellet products over here. It would help a bunch if some of you would take the time to e-mail Viessmann and demand that they get with the program. The phone # for North American operations is 800-288-0667. Ask for Rich Gruber................OOoooooo.......he's gonna kill me.

ok -- maybe it would just be easier to sell my lame Treager on Ebay and buy a Baxi. I don't have to beg those folks!
