Excel Wall Thimble comments?

Any one use the Wall Thimble with Integrated Outside Air (PWTOI) from Excel Pellet?



I want to change my setup from horizontal vent to out and up through the roof eave. Anyway, this would take care of the OAK.

However, like the current Excel wall thimble I have, it doesn't compress enough (min. 6 1/2 - max. 11 1/2) for a 2x4 external wall, so I would have to build a 2" frame to build up the wall thickness.

Any reviews are welcome.

Why not just cut 2" off the inner sleeve of the thimble so it compresses enough for the wall.

At the time I thought the frame was easier.

I installed the Harman answer to this idea. Works well, made to fit the stove (adjustable for the air inlet position).

Worked out well, no issues.

And no need to build out the wall, even with 1920's 2x4 construction.
