I am very fortunate in the fact that I have multiple friends with multiple lots I have permission to cut on. A friend is slowly clearing a lot and tells me I can cut anything on this lot with a red X on it. From time to time I check in and see what is available. I stopped by the other day and found several primo dead standing, no bark, red X's of my favorite firewood. Only one truckload, but primo stuff. This stuff was so dry when I was throwing the smaller stuff into the pickup, it sounded like I was in a bowling alley! I'll be interested in seeing what the MM reads on these.
Im sure most of you know what this is, but for those of you who dont... I believe it is the favorite firewood of roughly 75% of us here, if not more.

I think you're wrong about the 75%, BV. Its probably closer to 90%! ;)

Funny thing is, those small stacks in the upper right background are ailanthus! They have been there for a while. I suspect they will continue to be there for a while.

    Scotty,
I've become such a snob, I don't even take BL anymore unless it is standing dead and the bark is already off!

Nice BL score BV. I love hearing that bowling pin sound when I'm loading my trailer, it usually. only ash when I'm doing it though.

Definitely a sweet score there BV! Please update us on the MM reading! You might as well rub it in a little more!

UPDATE: MC is in. This is from one of the largest rounds approximately 3 seconds after split. Dust was literally puffing out when I split this stuff. I will be burning it this year, Jan/Feb. I'm 2 years ahead but I dont think this is gonna get any better.

Only way to get better is to get 3 years ahead. For sure you have some great firewood.

No shame at all burning that stuff this winter.......heck you could chuck that in the stove right now and you'd be good to go!
