Expansion tank question

From what I have read yes, so I did it with mine. I have half inch copper going from my air vent to my 120 gallon tank. It works so far.

I did exactly that,reducing 1 1/4" down to 1/2" pex,been running that way for 3 years.Water is not going to move that fast to and from tank to need anything larger.
