Our colors was not all that great this year and many trees lost their leaves even before the color season. They are all dropping fast now. Here are a couple of my all-time favorites taken on our place:

It's not peak here yet on the south coast.
The swamp maples are usually first to turn red orange and yellow and they mostly just fell off and are gone.
Oak trees leaves are turning a bit brown at the edges and dropping. Hardly any reds (the red oaks are still green so we may see some red leaves , yet)

Not a very colorful fall at all.

Anyone who wants white and red oak acorns is more than welcome to come rake my lawn.
The white oak acorns are HUGE this year and there are bazillions of them. Usually they are quite full of acorn worms / grubs and are mostly non-viable. They are almost all sprouting this year.
Actually if you want the white acorns you may have to yank them out of the ground, they are grabbing hold quick.

Bert and Craig: nice pictures.

Our driveway can barely be seen now because of all the fallen leaves. It really gets carpeted when the oaks drop their leaves. They have started dropping but the big oak leaf fall will come in a couple of weeks.

I love this time of year

Taken two weeks ago, around 8am. The mist is still on the far side of the lake.
It was a very beautiful site. I love the fall.
