    Watch the director's cut of The Exorcist in the dark and then try going to sleep immediately after. I dare you.

    I watch a LOT of horror movies. The first scary movie I ever saw in a theater was "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" from the 70's. I had nightmares for a week, and it's still a KILLER. The first 2 Alien movies had the isolation thing, which is a great formula- still some of my faves. Watched Alien 3 times in a day once in college.

    The Evil Dead movies, including Army of Darkness, of course- were great fun as well.

    +1 on that one. I still haven't made it through Dreamcatcher either. Scary movies scare me.

    John Carpenter's "The Thing" is almost as good as the original Alien, especially if you have been somewhere remote during winter.
