So I installed my insert 6 weeks or so ago and have been using a sheet of durock for my ember protection for the few fires we had. I finally had the time this weekend to get some tile down and it didn't turn out to bad- looks better than the durock! This was my first time laying tile I'm doing all kinds of firsts with our new house- I also did the insert install myself. Now I can get back to splitting next years stash!
