Need to determine what is under that hearth first.

Is there a ceiling hiding this area in the basement? If so some explorative surgery may be needed. It's important to know what is under this hearth as the F3CB has an R=1.1 hearth insulation requirement. If you bring the stove out of the fireplace the hearth will need to be extended so that there is 16" of insulated hearth in front of the stove door. That could be a challenge with the round hearth. Not impossible, but it will project further into the room.

Lining up an inspection appt. from the installers, I'm told they are booked for 3 weeks but we shall see.
