Hello all!

I have a fireplace insert that has been sitting out in the barn for ever It needs some love / paint etc.

But im going to install it soon.

Can the gurus please advise in the process best paint / coating for refurbishing this unit?

I will be installing a Flex pro king ss liner (Is this a proper choice) the rectangular opening on insert is 5 X 10 So I think??? I need a 8 "??? Comment here pls!

Ok now for the ugly part the existing chimney flue Comes straight down from the top about then makes a dog leg and the rectangular opening at the bottom see pics is only 5 inches wide plus tight quarters ???

So what type of adapter will work best for me ?? Anyone still reading?? want to get some paint today if possible

thx in advance

#1, Get the chimney cleaned first and inspected. It has to be completely clean before putting in a liner and you need to know the throat size and condition of the chimney and chimney tiles.
#2. What is the exact measurement of the flue outlet on the stove. There are adapters for some of these old units
#3. Stove Brite or Thurmolox paint work well here. Do a good job of cleaning up the rust first.
#4. Kudos for the desire to make this work. For all this effort consider the following. I would think hard about putting in a new stove instead. It will heat better, use less wood, connect to a 6" liner, look better, burn much cleaner and will provide you with a priceless, nice view of the fire. Looks like an Englander 13 NCi might fit in there.
