What do you guys use for suspended ceiling tiles over flue pipes? I do not have the clearance recommended by the stove manufacturer. Although this stove was run by my dad in this house for many years with normal ceiling tiles there, it would only take one time for it to go bad and ruin my day. Like one guy here said, it would not be fun standing outside in my boxer shorts watching the house burn down.

So please tell me what you have tried and how you like them. I'm looking for how easy they are to get (in stock at home improvement centers?), how easy they are to cut, any type of rating they carry, etc etc.

Thanks,
Craig

Depending on the clearance reduction required, a heat shield made of stiff sheet metal or just cement board, spaced 1" off the ceiling may suffice.

Cover a non-combustible sheet with tin ceiling tiles over the stove?
