First year with a pellet stove I have a cap on my vent pipe that goes out my chimney. I put damp rid container in firebox to keep dry until next season does anyone else do this and does it work?

Yes it works well but really depends on your environment. Near the sea or in a basement you always have moisture issues. Then again you could spark it up for an hour a day.
Thanks not near the sea and the stove is in the living room just taking extra precaution to avoid rust issues.
