firebrick fell out

1 of the firebrick in the backwall of my wood burner fell out. ls it still safe to use? How do l put it back in and have it stay? l let the stove cool down after l saw it and placed it back in but will not stay. No idea how old the stove is, l do know our home is about 10 yrs old thanks
 
It should be replaced before you burn too much. Is it broken? Usually if they won't stay in they're broken.
 
Tractor supply carriers them. It will probably need trimmed to fit.....

Sometimes you need to take several other bricks out to get the new one in.
 
You can trim them with a hand grinder and a wheel that is made for masonry. I believe they are 4" and you can find those grinding wheels any place that sell the hand grinder itself.
 
I've also had luck with a large masonry chisel.
