I got everything ready. Tin cut to match, mason drill bit, bolts, go to open the brand new container of furnace cement that I bought yesterday at Home Depot and it was hard as a rock. I couldn't even poke a putty knife into it

To top it off the firebrick broke more when I moved it

Grrrrrrrrrr!!!
