I have a second home that I let family and friends use occasionally. The only problem I have is that sometimes they forget to close the damper in the fireplace after the fire has burned out and then the heat from the primary heat source ( oil, FHA) is drawn up the chimney. My question is, would installing glass doors on the front of the fireplace and assuming the doors are kept closed, would this solve my problem or is there anything else that would help?

or is there anything else that would help?

I am thinking a quick cuff upside the head might help...;)
That said - if you are putting doors tight enough to make an air seal, you could really change the burn characteristics of the stove (read: starve for air). If you do consider this, get a pro out there to see what your options are.
