I was going to replace the ZC fireplace in the basement, but instead we are going to rip it out, and build a hearth for a fireview in the spot that the inside chase runs up through the house (4'x5' hearth) on the main floor. I was going to buy all the venting from woodstock right away too. I need a 8'-9' ss chimney and it looks like it will be 800-900 bucks. Would I be a lot cheaper off if I just used the simpson stuff that menards or farm and fleet sell or is the brand that woodstock sells superior to that stuff?

I don't think the Woodstock stuff is any more superior, just make sure it's class A chimney.

The stovepipe that Woodstock sells is the best quality, IMO. They sell Heat-Fab venting products. I replaced my old stovepipe when I purchased my Fireview. This stuff has no seams and is a much heavier gauge. I feel alot safer using this heavier gauge steel. You can't put a price on saftey.

I bought the stove pipe ( the pipe inside the house) from woodstock and it is a heavier guage. It was more expensive than the regular stuff ( forget the guage, but it is two guage lower than the standard stuff) but they paint it to match your stove as well.
