Aaaaaa. I see a potential problem with this. Bigburner has, well, a really big burner!

From my thread on "A few pictures of our boiler systems."
Have a look through them when you get a chance. http://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/a-few-pictures-of-our-boiler-systems.75006/

    This is bigburner's!

And this is Infinitymike's response! ;lol

    Bigburner,

That thing is insane! That is one big burner (no pun intended)
Based on the ladder that thing must be 15 feet high! Holy Macaroni dude.

No need to split anything either, just throw the whole dame tree in!

I guess you are heating half of Michigan!

Very impressive. ;lol Good one Mike!

;lol This was his description in reply to questions about it.

welded 1932 steam boiler rated for 30 psi [Hydro at 45 psi] Hot water 1200 gallon, about 800 ft 3" fire tube, several skids of refractory for burn chamber, set up to do up flow gasification with counter flow passages and bypass, wood loaded with two wheel dolly, door hand cranked gear box -open/closed, 4,000 gal storage [unpressurized], Heats - 9,000 sq ft shop @ 60F in slab + 2500 Sq ft house @ 70F Air to Air with under floor tile areas + 1,000 sq ft indoor pool room & 12,000 gal pool + 700 sq ft garage Air to Air [mounted on unit heater] + 800 sq ft apartment in slab, wood consumption - not sure we burn every thing [hard ,soft wet, dry] some days it seems like it is very very efficient and others not as much. My guess when burning hot [fire brick glowing] it has efficiency as good as anything out there. This is fourth season Plan on doing some stack reading this winter, find out where the short falls are in the burn cycle/air adjustment. Hope to also experiment with straw bales and wood chips

Good. That means I can leave my stacks 11" round and 30" long (11x13" door on my Charmaster)!

Have you ever seen Jeff Foxworthy's old routine? If your front porch collapses and kills more than five dogs, ya might be a redneck! (Dat ones da chit right dere.;lol )

Well I just imagine one for Scotty's club. I saw one of Jack Straw's post in another thread. Hope you don't mind Jack Straw. ;em

If you have to put tire chains on your four wheel drive JEEP to get your wood out and bring it home, you might be a member of the Firewood Hoarders Club!

Well, the good lord blessed me with a 2 week power outage, and then I was away at hunting camp, then the holiday week. So all in all I was gone for a month. Good thing was I did not have to read all the ashcan crap after the election.
  11. Gasifier Minister of Fire

;lol That was good myway. I have found that I am better off not reading or being involved in anything in the ashcan anymore. Much more enjoyable that way. And I am sure they enjoy not having me involved in their conversations as well! ;lol

Two man crew with that machine can make a helluva lot of wood in a hurry! Cut, split and hauled 4 loads with my Canyon (prolly just shy of 2 cords) in an afternoon. Even stopped for lunch!

Once I'm done trading ammo for saws, and selling Dex the saws I don't keep, I've got to get me a real best like that. We're talking upwards of $2,500 or so?

    The Machine.

    The Log Dislodger

    The Log Cradle/Table

$2500 is pretty close apparently. $400 shipping to here tho. :( I dunno what happened to http://www.buyacehardware.com. Used to be able to do this exact machine for about $2200 to your door with liftgate service.

Ok, I don't even have a stove yet! And I think I may have developed an issue.

Am I the only one who has wood also stored at several other peoples houses?

I currently have 3 or 4 cords split and stacked at home. I have about 5 or 6 cords (or more? just a guess, it's in a giant mess pile from offloading my truck into back yard) rough cut which needs bucked and split also at home. Then I have 2 cords of oak rounds stacked at my folks house. I also have 1/2 cord split at my folks house. I have 1 cord+ of maple split and stacked at my mother-in-laws house, and she wants that out of there soon. Lastly, at the same mother in laws house, I have 1/2 cord of birch rounds which was just cut up two days ago, and left on side of house for me to pick up this weekend.

No wonder my wife has been looking at me funny when I pull up with more wood.

if I kick my old lady out I can fit about a face cord in the space she once occupied....

;lolGood one albert. It is a good thing you did not say a full cord in the space that she occupied. I know you would not have told her about that!
