Same with my Pap......what a guy. He was taken WAY too early by cancer, I think about him and the advice he gave me every single day.....to this day I can still hear his voice and his laugh and man I wish I had some more time with him. I'd love to sit and chat, and to re-iterate how proud I am to be his grandson......

I'll see him again someday, I look forward to that day.......

Yup.Listened a lot to grandfathers, but wish I did more in the time they had here. They died when I was almost 9 & 13.But did listen a lot to my 10 uncles after that.Only 1 of them left now.Still ask Dad for his opinion on stuff,he mainly just watches me & smiles now.Probably thinks "Well it looks like he paid attention all those years ago after all....."

I think the only real way you can determine if you are a serious hoarder is at the end of burning season....not before

About 7 cord behind me! And I just hit a mother load with the neighbor right behind me having multiple oak trees taken down as I write this (the sweet sound of chain saws running!).... and its all mine. heeheeeheee I am a sick man.....
  14. Flatbedford Minister of Fire

I have about one less cord now C/S/S than I did in September, and I burned nearly 4 in that time. I should be back to 13 +/- cords in a month or so.

I'm just a social hoarder. I feel so....unprepared... in this club. We live in the city. Wood gives us good heat, but we use the fireplace (insert) about two evenings a week. Love it. We only burn 1/2 to 1 cord a year, but with 1 1/2 cords in the driveway, ready for next October, many of the neighbors think we are hardcore wood users.

Just had a neighbor come to the house today and ask to buy some wood for a party he's having tonight. Gona have a bonfire. I showed him my pile of ugly and shorts I use for the fire pit and let him take all he wanted. Just means I get to go cut more!

I didn't cut too much for myself this winter. Maybe a cord for myself, but cut around 3 cord for the boy scout camp a couple weeks ago.....

I've got lots and lots of wood lined up, just have to finish my living room so I can go and cut it!!

That's awesome Scott, helping the boy's out. They camp out down here on the CG base as well. we give them all the cut limbs and "LOTS" of pallets for their fires.

Show 'em some of the stacks we have here.......they'll leave you alone for a long time.
Another cord, and I'll be back where I was last year before the burn season started.
More to come. Just gets easier once you get ahead.
Scotty, I take walks to the stacks every day with at least one of the dogs, and wish I could get cutting more ASAP.
I actually need almost 2 cord to finish the row I pulled from last year to fill the shed, then I'll need to do the same for the row that I pull from to fill it this year.
Been thinking about putting in another row too.!!!
"Wouldn't ya' like to be a prepper too, be a prepper, drink Dr. Prepper". Wait, that's not right.;)

I think there's something to your sickness though...In the event of infrastructure failure, you can heat, cook and barter...you may be more prepared than sick...hey, I lived through Katrina and it can fall apart overnight, you know, especially nowadays...just sayin...it's still funny though...

I officially made it into the BTU processor club this spring. I am moving along nicely with my therapy, I went into last season with 21 pallets and I will be going into next season with 23 3/4 pallets. I stack about 5' high so I believe I have more then twelve cords split and stacked.
