    BTU possessor. At the moment.
I've been all of those in the past 6 years.
Shooting for SWA before next year. Helps when you figure out how to fix a saw.==c

IMO, you're not hoarding if you have two years' supply split and stacked, accounting for some slow-drying Oak in your stacks. You are just even with a two-year supply. Hoarding totals should be counted in years beyond that level. I just went out and took inventory. It appears I have a little over five years beyond my two-year maintenance level, for a total of 14 cords. With a concerted effort this Fall, I can elevate myself to Severe Wood Addict on the Scotty-scale. On my scale, five years ahead would be somewhere in the middle of the hoarding pack... ==c

Absolutely! I don't know what I'll burn in an average, bad or good winter. I KNOW I'm not 3 years ahead though.. thus why I'm still cutting as fast as I can.

Wait a minute Woody. That's not fair. If you have 14 cord and I have 14 cord, we should be the same, even though mine only lasts 2.5 years and yours lasts 7.
    I call wood hoarding bias.;)
I'm working on a new stove and more wood, so we'll even out at some point.
Actually, I only have about 12 cord. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

I'm teetering between SWA and FBCJ, I'll probably settle back into the SWA once we start burning any noticeable amounts.

My 14 cords is a bona fide hoard. With 14 cords, you barely have what you need to keep you in dry wood. You have been busting your butt, I'll give you that, but if you want to be classified as a hoarder you'd better get cracking! ==c

That's nothing. When you replace the wood you burn this year without the use of a working chain saw, now that will be impressive! ;)

Once this latest scrounge is in I think we'll be well into the BTU Possessor. I think I'll be happier when we are SWA though - OMG I really just said that didn't I? :p

Not true! 3 or 4 face cords equal a real cord. If you kiss your sister 3 or 4 times she's still your sister.

And at this point I am a BTU processor but hoping to get promoted soon!

Hmmm...at 15 cord I could be a BTU Poser or an SWA... Guess I need to run out tomorrow and cut another 2-3 cord just to make sure I'm clearly in the latter...

Its all about having the Most. Just like Firewood.

With wood, it needs time to season. With Pellets, its about buying them when price is down, so when it goes back up (08-09) then I can wait it out for a year or two.

Everyone has there own opinion. I love my 30-NC. But my Pellet Furnace is the Chit. Self cleaning and runs throughout my existing ductwork. Also connected to a T-stat and will run just like a regular furnace.

But I am a BTU processor and Pellet pig.

Although in the Pellet pig club, everyone os considered a Pellet pig. Its how many ton that dictates your Hog level and also if you have a Multi fuel stove (corn, pits, seeds) or if you have multiple stoves. There are layers to it (sounds Corny, but its a way to have fun and get folks to have enough fuel for the Winter and buy when prices drop).

I am a Firewood Hoarder and a Pellet Hoarder. 3 yrs of each!! Take that Ferrel Gas ;)

HA! Easily a woodpile PSYCHO, and then some. I split at least that much with my 6# non-Fiskars maul every year......in addition to the piles that are already seasoning patiently.

    fun thread scotty

i've got on hand approximately (probably more):

    11 cords split and stacked
6 cords of hardwood rounds ( for 2014/15)
1 cord seasoned white pine (for this fall)
at least3 cords pine rounds (shoulder season for the next few years)
1 cord of ash rounds just dropped and cut

puts me over the edge to FBCJ - but i could be a PSYCHO with a little more effort!
