I am a sleep walker not a SWA.............Somehow I got up at 2:00 am the other night. I must of gotten my saw.......I don't remember
They say I walked into the woods. My wife was woken when she heard the chain saw running. She freaked out and called the life squad.
Before they got there they say I felled at least 60 trees. She said they grabbed me and I awoke. I was ashamed. They took my saw away from me.
Now I just look out the window into the woods and stare all day at the downed trees. Maybe someday when I get better they will give me my saw back.
They say it might be a few years. Either way, I still can't get my mind off of wood.

You think you have a problem, so I'd put you in the higher class......remember, admitting we have the addiction is just fuel to get more wood!

    Let's get it going.

Don't be ashamed, we're all in this together.....the first step is to admit we have a wood collecting problem!;)

You've been on Jaywalking, haven't you?
So, do we need to add our CURRENT addictive status in sig line and change it as our problem progresses/regresses, or just the highest level of addiction ever achieved.
This is getting way too difficult. My thinking cap is melting.

put it where you "average" out. Or put it where you "max" out. Or change it when you want to. No need to have a meltdown, PD! ;)

FWIW, we already all know that we all have a problem!;lol
  15. PapaDave Minister of Fire

    Ahhh, I feel better now.
I shouldn't need to worry over such trivialities.
The averaging thing would need the thinking cap....which is now a puddle on the floor.;lol
Max, is a moving target. I'll just add where I am now and change if I think about it.;)
J/K, of course, since I can probably tell you how many splits I handle every year, and how many times I've done it.!!!

o.k. It took a whole notha beer but I think I am getting close to a diagnosis/classification. CORD-HOARDING runs in my family as does being a WOOD-AHOLIC, me, my mother, and my aunt have all been found guilty of BTU posession. They know that they have each been SWA at various times. I have already been labeled a FBCWJ by everyone that I wont sell wood to( I cut so much that I only sell to close friends in need). Thankfully my yard is small enough to prevent my PSYCHOSIS. Therefore I am in the top 3 or the bottom 3 depending on the day/month/season/year and how many people I am cutting for.

    Cord hoarder.

Just picked up a 5x8 trailer to use for when the 16x6 is just too big. My wife doesn't understand how anyone "needs" two trailers for wood hauling, while my sons want to know when we're getting a medium one to go with the small and large one.

This is the start of my second year of burning. I have done alot of cutting the past year. I estimate I have 15 cord on hand (BTU possesor) and will probably add to this over the next few months.

How is one's status effected if one is contemplating selling all the processing equipment and just watching the stacks disappear? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I keep thinking I won't be able to continue this with any sane perspective. Why not sell the stuff and buy it again in 5-7 years when I will need it again. Then I think about how I would feel if a giant oak or hickory falls in the field across the street, and I don't have the means to make it into splits. It is a cruel addiction.

That is a good statement! Especially considering the anger in my wife's voice when I get up before the sun comes up on a Saturday morning and tell her I'm heading out the door.........to cut ANOTHER TREE DOWN!!

I told my wife about my wood cutting plans for the fall and she says "we already have enough wood". I explained that we have to replace what we burn this winter, but she just looked at me kinda funny and moved on to another topic.
