guess I fall in the "btu possessor" pile today.. but going to move up soon... very soon.

Technically, we all fluctuate in wood possession.....I've used up around a 1/4 cord so far, maybe a little less. But I've got a TON of cutting to do over the winter, so it goes up and down all the time. I guess the ultimate goal for most of us is to get a couple of years ahead....wait, I mean GET MORE WOOD THAN WE'LL EVER NEED!!

Guessing I've used maybe 2 big wheelbarrows worth so far this month.No burning this week since temps in 60's & higher here,its 76 & quite humid right now.But will be mid 50's early tommorow,falling temps w/80% chance of showers & 45 Friday through Sunday with nights 30-35.If it dont rain tommorow I have roughly 1/2 cord deadfall to finish bucking/splitting/stacking.Plus would like to drop a 12" x 50' Bur Oak that died last Spring if I have time.I'll wait until Fri/Sat if need be,no rain expected then.

Was prepping saw to buck a few small maples today, and wife said " when will you be done cutting?"

Just did some measurements before burning starts in earnest here for the year - ~13.5 accumulated since last January - squarely in the btu possessor category & happy to be here

I have never suffered from woodpile envy......until today

I am a proud SWA this week. After the winds die and I get a chance to go see the blow downs, I figure I will probably be able to classify myself as a Psycho (normally other people classify me as a psycho). I am 100 miles west of Baltimore and DC and we've already had 4 inches of rain and severe winds. GOOD LUCK to all you folks in the direct path of Sandy

I loved your wife's quote. My wife whines about the time I spend cutting wood, but when I think about how cold her toes used to feel on my back while I was trying to sleep, EVERY log I cut and split is well worth it.
It took me a while to figure out the Virgil Caine quote, but I finally got it......very nice

I guess I am a cord-hoarder! Six cord c/s/s plus several more cord cut and split but in piles. Just getting started on next years firewood.

Sitting on 23 cords and still cutting....we are 3 years ahead now. Just cant stop !

Cord Hoarder at 7 cords. Just getting going with my first year burning. I am looking to add to the cords with some downed oak trees from my inlaws yard this winter. I help my father n law drop the trees and he gives me the wood in return. Great deal all around. My goal is to get a couple years ahead but really don't know what a years worth of wood is until I burn an entire winter.
