I have mixed feelings about mine. Since I'm not at the point that I can accurately determine MC using the "crack vs thud" test, I like having the meter tell me what's going on. But I don't like that it usually tells me that most of my wood is still in the upper 30 range.
(But I'm sure it will be my best buddy NEXT year!)

You may have hit the nail on the head as to why a lot of people have no use for moisture meters.

I've had 20% wood that thuds and I've had 30% wood that sounds like a baseball bat (you know, a real baseball bat...) I'll take the meter any time. But I'm a little bit of a meter nazi around here
