Fiskars splitting vs chopping axe

I would guess that the splitting axe is better for splitting but why. The blades look very similar.

I ask because I bought a X15 at walmart for splitting small rounds 12 " or less and then discovered
it was a chopping axe.

What will I be missing using this instead of the splitting ax.
 
Looking at the axe heads from the top - the wedge of the blade on a splitter is much beefier than on a chopper. Much like the difference between the head on a maul and on an axe.

Get an X27 in your hands. You will notice the difference.

More weight (4.09 lbs) and a longer handle (36") on the X27 allows you to generate more splitting power. It's more like swinging a handle with a splitting wedge on the end instead of an axe head.

Just keep your feet apart for safety. ;)
