Foil faced ceramic blanket question

I have two woodstoves, a Hearthstone Phoenix and a Country S160. Both came with 1/2” unfaced ceramic blankets at the top of the firebox. Both blankets were worn out so I decided to replace them with new ones. The new ones are foil faced on one side. My question is does the foil face the firebox or the stovepipe?
