Free wood on craigslist, black oak?

Saw an ad for free "black oke" on craigslist and he had a few pictures, pictures are posted. I went and loaded up the trailer, very large and very heavy pieces. Is it Oak?

You need way better pics...close ups and in focus. But it kinda looks like an Oak butt. Oak is easy to tell from the wood grain, probably more so than any other wood.

I really would need to see the leaves of that piece for a true oak identification. I know the owner didn't give you that.
Tough to ID without a little more info.
 
Looks like it has plenty of BTUs. Split and dry it and don't worry about species.
