I created a home fuel search site to try and create a one stop place for people to find all types of fuel oil, pellets, bio, wood, coal, etc. When we built a house recently we didn't realize how difficult it would be to shop around for this kind of stuff. Unfortunatly with fuel prices going crazy its more important to shop around to find the best deals you can to save a few bucks. Feel free to leave me comments about the site, things you'd like to see added/changed. If you are a fuel dealer feel free to post your info on our site free, the more companies we have the easier it is for people to find what their looking for.

    The site is fuelstart.com

Thanks for the work Carlo. I was just beginning my look for a Green Energy company to do some work on my house, and this will definitely help.

rap69ri if there is anything you come across in your search for green energy companies that I could add to the site to help others doing the same search let me know.

FYI, we have a Press Release section on this site that is available to industry members with bona fide sites and products - it is free to use. Information about joining can be found at:
    http://www.hearth.com/pr

We generally take a dim view of commercial use of this Forum, meaning a company promoting themselves....only because once someone does it, there are hundreds more that want to do it (why not?, it's free and effective) and then the board gets messed up.

So, along with my "welcome" to Hearth.com, I would ask that the link be removed from your signature. No problem with announcing the site here once or twice, but we discourage longer term promo. If your site is useful, your users will be posting links here in the future, which is really the most effective way to promote anyway.

Here are the general Forum guidelines, although by no means complete:

Thanks for the site ! Any thoughts on perhaps having a section where folks who are interested in doing a "group buy" (to get trailerload pricing) for pellets can list their location, tons desired, etc ?

Yeah, no hard and fast rule. If you think the site (external site) is full enough to be useful, you can link to it once or twice to get it known. But since I don't even use my own sig to promote my sponsors or commercial stuff, I think it's a good basic rule.

There are exceptions - for instance many hearth dealers spend time here helping hundreds of people with their problems. I am less likely to have a problem with them promoting their shop in a mellow way.

No hard and fast rule, and nothing meant to shut down commerce, but rather to make certain most people who hang here use the forum to help others. I'm sure we have all seen lists, forums and email that has become full of too many promotions!

I erred. I thought the site was somehow linked to this site, but I would ask that question to both site admins then. I think this could be a useful feature for
us pelletheads looking to secure good pricing.

Thanks for the suggestion GViz, to respect Craig's wishes I will try to keep talk about my site to a minimum. So if you wish to discuss anything about my site feel free to email me or submit a comment on my site. I agree with Craig about the use of forums not being for commercial purposes and again I apologize for my original post.
