I am currently looking at miscanthus X giganteum for a feedstock to manufacture pellets. Also looking at Paulownia and/or megaflora trees. I've got nearly 10,000 acres and would like to know if you would be willing to recommend pelletizing equipment that would be robust enough to handle the yield from this acerage. The clearage from the land would be enough to start the project.

If you do the search, you will find a few posts from people selling different sorts of pellet making equipment, but frankly this kind of question is outside the normal range of expertise for most of our members. I think you might be better off looking on some sort of industrial manufacturing / supply type sites, though I'm not really sure what to reccomend. I know there are a couple of pellet manufacturing associations / certification outfits that might be good resources, though as a cordwood burner I'm not sure of the names off hand.

I'm also going to move this thread to the pellet area as there may be people there that can be of more help.

From what I have read, It is more profitable to Sell your yield to a Mill. Unless you have a large building and several Thousands of dollars to invest in the equipment. In addition to the mill, the process requires shredders, mixers, coolers, baggers, etc

I think it takes a million or more to buy the proper equipment....this stuff is expensive!
