Anyone get something wood-burning related for Christmas?

I bought myself a Fiskars X27 a couple weeks ago, I guess that sort of counts :)

Hope everyone is having a great day, kids are napping so getting a chance to sit and relax for a bit! No pictures of the axe so here's a couple of the stove and the light snow falling outside.

You bet! Santa aka my wife got me a timber tuff electric chain sharpener. Gonna get it set up tomorrow and even though all my chains are sharp right now I may have to rock 1 on purpose just to try it out.

Wood burning related no ................... I've done more than enough of that playing santa to myself the last 2 months..................... I've been afraid to report here on my latest "ammo" acquisitions for fear you guys will send the men in the little white coats my way (several more complete running saws and over a half dozen project/parts ones in the garage). The list now includes: 191T, 024AV, 025, 250, 250C-BE, 2 x 026, 270C, 4 x 031AV, 360 pro, 440 mag, 460 mag, 7 old stihl partial parts saws that I haven't even identified yet probably headed for ebay.

But my teenage daughters got me a really cool high-tech back scratcher, and assortment of hot sauses, and I'm listening to Angus and Malcolm on my new "old" AC/DC "Live at River Plate" cd, munching peach flavored gummy penguins.

I got a trolley and an 8lb fiberglass handled sledge from the folks. My brother commented that the trolley bore a resemblance to the one that haunted our childhood.

One of my gifts was a Fiskers X27. Played with it a little. SplittIng splits smaller with it was a joy. It did however take numerous smacks to bust up a beech round. So far to me, I don't see what all the hype is. If You have an axe/maul that you get by fine with, no need spending the money unless you just want to.

That the starter tool you got? Haven't really figured out a good use for them other than cutting the bottom of a door jamb. My dad was comment that he wanted to get started on that series, though

Yes, that's it. She also gave me a jig saw head for it, along with an extra battery pack.

The Wife got me some nice things, but the gift I got myself is another 036.

In really good condition. Almost as nice as the one I had (got it from an old man with original receipt and owners manual). :)

It needs the little metal tab to make the kill switch operational. That's the only thing wrong with the new one.

Nothing wood burning-related here either, but I did get a nice small assortment of summer sausages (beef, elk, wild boar & venison etc) with some cheese logs,chocolate,1 yr subscrip renewal to Scotland Magazine & gift certificate to my fav local european small grocery/deli from the parental units. Told them a few weeks ago when they asked for hints - "I dont need any tools, have plenty of warm work clothes/several pair of boots, cant think of any books,CD's or DVD's I want either. But anything to eat or drink is always welcome ;)"

How's that river plate CD? In Argentina on the last Black Ice tour, correct? Kicking myself because that tour is the ONLY one I missed since 1978,seen the boys at least once on every tour since. And the rumours saying that it was probably their last,Jonno is considering retiring now.

I think they have a DVD of that gig also.Gonna get them & the new Zep Celebration Day London 02 Arena Dec 2007 Reunion pretty soon.

Hey Thistle, sounds like a nice assortment of goodies for you too. Are you part Scottish? The CD is a double set, very nice, yes, Argentina............ At one point Brian screams out "we don't speak spanish we just speak rock & roll"............... don't they ever! My favorite is missing though......... Rock & Roll ain't noise pollution.............I've seen the DVD of the concert too, my neighbor has it. Little Angus still doing his routine full tilt at about 60yr+. I never saw them live, just about every other "old" band back in the 70's & 80's but never them. Once you get past the screaming vocals, great! ;lol I saw an interview once discussing the little school boy outfit. They used to dress up as animals when first starting out in Australia. Angus's sister is the one who suggested the school boy outfit, obviously it stuck.
