That's pretty cool, I didn't know catalytic stoves got the ghost flames...
 
Thats what I liked about it. It happens under certain conditions. Usually when the air is turned way down, the wood is super dry, and it is int he last stages of burn.
 
Ours will rise right to the very top and just stay there. It also lasts a long time on our stove.

Yes Adam, it is pretty awesome to watch these cat stoves.
