I have a Stihl MS310 with a 20" bar.

I have a large stump that needs to be cut up and was wondering if the power head could power a 25" bar. I know it is not recomended by Stihl, but all I want to know is if it will work, and if it will work will it damage my saw in any way.

Also do people do any "upgrading" of there saws or not? I used to do alot with 2-stroke ATV's and dirtbikes, and I know just by adding a pipe and letting the engine breath adds alot of power, or even porting and pollishing does alot.
Is anything like this done in the chainsaw world?

Thanks
Ross
