Now that the pellet stove is upstairs I see that the glass is streaking, staining.
It runs both from top and bottom for a few inches.
Almost like the gasket is gone...

The gasket needs to be changed every year?

I know my icon shows my wood stove, but this is the St Croix pellet stove I'm speaking of.

I've never had to change my glass gaskets. On either Enviro stove I have.

If you are refering to your Door/Ashpan gaskets then.....maybe.

Do the dollar bill test and see if they are sealing.

Best of luck,

Can we get some photos?

Gaskets should not need replacement every year on any stove. Wood nor pellet. How old is your stove?

2 years that why I'm asking... The Shelburne I replaced last year, but that's 10 years old.
I'll post a pick shortly

New phone so took some time to get back to uploading pic's

This is about 2 weeks running..
I did find a weak spot at the bottom of the door.
I've also just moved this stove upstairs and 'direct vented' now so I also adjusted the trim down 1 step.

Wish mine was that clean after 2 weeks running !

Really? When my wood stove did this I freaked...
Like I say, upstairs now so I'm noticing this now..

Your window is doing fine.

The top of the glass is not sealed (on purpose) so air is sucked into the stove and flows over the glass keeping it clean.

Here is our little Whit after 3 days of running 24/7

We use a very high ash fuel (Nut shells)

It is part of life in the "Burn lane"

Thank you!
I did turn the input fan down a notch.. be curious how that effects it.
I do feel a lot better about this now.

Now that it's up in the Dining Room, I am paying much more attention.
I switched over to 'Smart Mode' which allows it to run a bit on low before shutting down or firing back up.

The glass is better!
Does make sense when you think about it..

I'm on second week, first on Normal, second on Smart Mode.
Glass is not as streaked.
I'm learning my stove!

Thank you all for your input!

Maybe when you were moving it to a new location you jarred a clump of ash loose in the system and it is restricting the exh.
