I just got a big load of green maple. Mostly limbs and I would say the largest diameter is about 8" which I plan to cut down and then split to fit in my stove. Will I be able to burn this wood in the upcoming winter? Will it be cured enough? Thanks in advance.

That depends on the drying conditions and how well you split it.

I would split everything above, say, 4 inches, then stack it in a nice, sunny spot. You can cover it right away, but I prefer to leave it uncovered until sometime in September, then cover it with plastic or a tarp after a nice dry stretch. If you can move it indoors (say into a heated basement or a heated garage), before the snow flies, that would be great. If not, it should be OK to burn this winter. Better to let it sit for a year, but you gotta burn what you got. With some hard work and a little cooperation from the weather, you should be fine.
