So the guy comes here and wants 2 ton. i load 2 on his trailer, being the trusting guy i never ask for money til after. So i loadem up.
the guy says so since i bought 2 ton ill give you 200 per ton. instead of 240 per ton
I think for a minute puzzled.
I tell the guy , Hey you have room for another ton on there if i move the pallets around and since you are taking 3 ton i will only charge you 100 for the third, so 500 for 3 ton.
    He says great.
So i unload them shut the machine off, and say GTFO of here lol. he says buddy i was only kidding.
I said ya me too, sit in your truck and ill load you when i get back from the bahamas

You are far more of a clever man than I. I probably would have automatically went into "choke mode".

I understand completely and I love it! Next time this happens, when you take off the last pallet, take the forklift, pick up the ass-end of his truck so the rear wheels are off the ground, and throw the forklift keys in the nearest lake.!!!

So let me get this straight... You're going to the Bahamas with the guy who's picking up the 3 ton of pellets for $500.00??

Who's gonna pay for the trip??;hm

    good for you, OMV.

some people can't seem to talk to you without the "just kidding" b.s.

bet he likes the classics too. "you can mow mine when you're done" & "missed a spot" etc...

That is pretty quick thinking on your part.

I would have gone off the deep end on him but what you did was classic!

In God we trust, all others pay cash... Upfront

I get called all the time by companies that want to help me go after bad checks and people not paying. I tell them that I do not have such a problem. They then ask me my secret so I tell them that we deal in stoves that starting weight is 300 pounds and my installers do not eat tofu. They always ask me to explain that. So I tell them that I am 6'06" and about 230 lbs. My installers all wear 3x shirts and are a little shorter than me. We will reclaim on our own debts.

The van carries the tools and there is a few boxes that contain tools to fix almost all the problems that I know of.

frankly, for most retailers, this isnt uncommon. You can be the cheapest price in 200 miles, and folks will still try and talk you down. A few gems...:

    "Whats MY price now......?"
"I have a cousin of a coworker who bought his stove 12 years ago and paid $200 less than this......you can do better"
"My local guy is $.03 less...."
"Lemme take them today, I will be in tomorrow to pay you...."
"I will leave a check on the door....."
"The check is in the mail...."
    "I have good credit...I think...."
"I know its 2am, and I know I bought it from the competition, but its cold out, Ive got old ladies and babies in here freezing to death, and Im sure the stove is underwarrantee, and the law says you HAVE to service me NOW, and oh, yea, Im not paying for a service call....."
