Well it's raining and 50 degrees here in Maine and the house was 58 when I got home from work today. The boiler hasn't run yet for heat but I have started the gas stove in the living room a few times to take the chill out. Today I lit off the woodstove for the first time. You have to love dry white pine and dead dry red oak. The stovetop temp is cruising at 625 45 minutes after I started her up.

Burn more pine . . . save the oak . . . unless you have a plethora of oak. :)

Lot's a 2-4 inch dead limb wood from a dead red oak I had taken down this spring. When the limb wood is gone it'll be a mix of pine and polar until it gets cold out.
