So Ive noticed that with these hotter energex golden pellets the stove isnt maintaining as tall of a flame as it did before and the auger cycles for a shorter time even in stove temp mode. Are they just burning hotter and satisfying the ESP more? on stove temp 3 it only cycles for about 9 seconds. Is this normal?

One word - yes. Using less pellets for the same amount of heat - enjoy.

Are you sure it's only nine seconds? Have you timed it with a stopwatch? My P61A on stove temp 3, cycles the auger on for 26-27 seconds (looks to be about 20-30 individual pellets), and idles for 34 seconds usually. This is with super hot/dry premium Granule LG softwoods.
