Hello all, great forum and site.

I am thinking of having a Morso 6140 installed into my chimney breast and wondered (given comments on some review sites about substantial amounts of ash falling on the hearth when the door is opened) what you think a good depth of hearth from the woodburner door into the room would be.

The dimensions of the unit are here in the tab marked technical (but I cannot see the width of the curved door)

http://morso.co.uk/product/morso-6140/

Many thanks
Tom

By code, here in the Colonies, your hearth must have 16" from the glass to the extreme outer edge.
Our neighbours in the Commonwealth to the North are required to have 18".
